how does one look up county court records online without having to pay for this so called public information?
In my area, it is called "Public Records". I use it all the time.
Try Googling "YourCounty Public Records" or "Your County Recorded Documents".
Google the county + Superior Court Records
References :
Google [your county name] clerk of court. You want clerk of court, not superior court as another person said. Most county clerk of courts have online court records. And it’s free.

Some county websites have limited information. But most will allow you to search property information. If not, I suggest you visit the courthouse.

I feel your pain! Some counties charge a "subscription fee" to utilize their website to access public records. But they don’t charge you a dime where they are kept (usually the county court house). If you are looking in one of these counties, there is no back door to the website beyond voting the powers that be out of office. For now, you need to either ante up, or make a trip to the county courthouse. Sorry!
